Iconic Item: Outside of the fan-given ones that have become Ascended Fanon, a few of the Vocaloids have a part of their design that makes them stand out.Miku is often the one receiving the most drastic changes of the six to the point where sometimes the only thing she'll have in common with her original design is her iconic twin tails or turquoise hair. Interpretative Character: Generally, the way they look or act will change depending on the medium.Miku is notable for having received 4 costume upgrades after her initial V2 release (Append, V4X, Chinese, and NT). Costume Evolution: They've all had at least one after being upgraded to V3-V4X.Color-Coded Characters: Each Crypton Vocaloid has a color associated with its character:.Miku is the biggest example of this, though each character has a dedicated fanbase and years' worth of fan art and other fan-made content behind them. Breakout Character: Though their popularity as software varies, Crypton virtual singers are unique in that they are perhaps the most recognizable as characters out of all the Vocaloids released.KAITO and MEIKO take this even further, due to being the only Crypton Virtual Singers who don't have a template assigning them age or an implied background like Miku due to the two predating the "Character Vocal Series". Blank Slate: The Piapro characters have no set personalities and are treated as interpretative characters across the media.
